Jogyesa Temple in Seoul is one of the few temples that offers "Temple Life Program" where you get to gain a comprehensive insight into the Buddhist religion and experience the traditional life led by the Buddhist Monks.

Jogyesa Temple in Seoul is known as the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea. If you want to get here, take the streets of Jongno towards Anguk Subway Station.

The green trees including Baeksong tree enlisted as a National Monument will mesmerize you. In fact, the locus tree of 26 meter in height offers shade to the pilgrims and creates a mystic effect in Summer.

The Daeungjeon, which was built in 1938, is the main building with a 7 stories stone pagoda with Jinsinsari in front of the Daeungjeon building. This temple may not have as beautiful a setting or a grave religious ambiance as other temples but it is well-networked with the neighborhood. Here, you will also find many Buddhist specialty shops displaying prayer beads, Buddhist writings, incense souvenirs like dolls and key chains.
